Mark Dalius
Art Guy
Mark learned the fundamentals of photography in the days of darkrooms, chemicals, and 35mm SLRs, and cut his digital editing teeth on Photoshop 3.0. “The best camera is the one you have with you,” and so he frequently uses his iPhone 13 Pro to capture interesting flashes of life and light.
As a lifelong (and highly successful) procrastinator, he’s putting this entire site together the night before his first gallery showing. So. That’s fun.
If you like his stuff or want to see more (or even buy a print), please shoot him an email using the contact form.
Moody Monochrome and Color That Goes To Eleven
They’re pho-tastic! Yeah!

Photos That Say “Hey!”
Mark’s style with color photography is to heighten saturation and contrast to create an almost cartoonish interpretation of reality, recreating the emotional response that often cannot be captured in the raw image. These works are intended to be joyful, celebrating both the wavelengths of light and the wavelengths of thought that join together to illustrate—or create—meaning.
Scattered Crayons
Crayons are often our first encounter with color in the form of pigment. It’s typical to see them scattered across a floor—usually by young artists in the throes of creation.

Thacher Island: North Lighthouse and Buoys
Lighthouses and their islands may be perceived as black and white silhouettes against flashes of lightning. And yet, pockets of color can be found, and stand out all the more against the gray.
Thacher Island: Buoys, Bench, and Coordinates
If you’re missing a brightly-colored buoy, here are the coordinates!
